Terms of Use

By signing in to BurnCare, you agree to the terms below. Last updated September 2026.

Eligibility

BurnCare is restricted to licensed or currently-training healthcare practitioners aged 18 or older who hold a valid practitioner certification accepted at registration. It is not available to the general public and is not intended for use by patients directly.

Authorized use only

This platform is provided for use by authorized clinical and research personnel only. Accounts are issued individually after an access request is reviewed and approved by an administrator — do not share your login credentials, and report any suspected unauthorized access immediately.

Practitioner certification

Registering for a clinician account requires uploading a current practitioner certification document and its expiry date. If a certification expires and an updated one has not been resubmitted, the account is automatically frozen: sign-in still works, but no other action is possible until a valid, current certificate is resubmitted from the account's certification page. You will see an in-app reminder as your certification's expiry date approaches.

Acceptance of these terms

Every account, on first sign-in, must review and explicitly accept these Terms of Use before using any other part of the platform. This is a one-time acceptance per account, tracked separately from the training-data consent choice made at registration (see the Privacy Policy).

Your responsibilities

  • Only upload patient photographs and data you are authorized to handle, with appropriate consent under your institution's policies.
  • Treat every AI-generated output as decision support, not a final answer — see the Disclaimer.
  • Do not attempt to circumvent account restrictions, access another clinician's cases without authorization, or use the platform outside its intended clinical/research purpose.
  • Keep your password confidential and sign out on shared devices.
  • Keep your practitioner certification current and resubmit a new one before the certificate on file expires.

Availability

This is a research-stage deployment. Features, models, and the pipeline itself may change without notice, and the service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance. It is provided on an "as-is" basis without warranty of uninterrupted availability.

Account suspension

An administrator may suspend or close an account that is used in violation of these terms, including unauthorized data access, credential sharing, or use outside the platform's clinical/research purpose. An account is also automatically frozen (see "Practitioner certification" above) if its certification expires without being resubmitted - this is an automated safeguard, not a disciplinary action.

Termination

You may stop using BurnCare at any time and request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these terms, as described in "Account suspension" above, or discontinue the platform entirely at our discretion, with reasonable notice where practical given its research-stage status.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from use of this platform is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts having authority over IIT Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the platform evolves. Continued use of the platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

BurnCare is an AI-based clinical platform. AI outputs may contain errors — the final clinical decision always rests with the treating healthcare professional.
