About BurnCare
A clinical research platform, not a commercial medical device.
What this platform does
BurnCare takes a single patient photograph and runs it through an automated pipeline: background removal to isolate the patient from the surroundings, AI-assisted burn-region detection, and total body surface area (TBSA) estimation — either automatically from a printed reference marker in the photo, or from a doctor manually locking a reference scale against a visible ruler or surgical tape. Where a patient's weight is on record, a Parkland-formula fluid resuscitation estimate is computed alongside the TBSA figure.
What it is not
This build is a 2D-photo-only research prototype supporting an ongoing academic study into photo-based TBSA estimation. It is not a certified diagnostic device, and none of its outputs (burn detection, TBSA, severity classification, or fluid estimates) should be treated as a final clinical determination. Every output is a decision-support aid — the treating healthcare professional is always responsible for the actual clinical decision.
Who it's for
Access is restricted to authorized clinical and research personnel who have been granted an account. Patient photographs and case records are only visible to the uploading clinician (or an administrator), never to the general public.
